Vaccine Storage
Recent research has shown an alarming level of use of domestic refrigerators to store vaccines. Did you know that not only can this damage the efficacy of the vaccines it also poses a security risk for medicines which should be locked away. The Rollex Lec Medical range provides key safety features as recommended by the National Pharmaceutical Association.
Pharmacy Refrigeration
Modern pharmaceuticals need to be stored at exact temperatures. Therefore these fridges have been designed to maintain air temperature of between +2°C and =8°C with an alarm system which activates upon higher or lower temperature deviations. In addition, these fridges automatically defrost to ensure the drugs stored do not lose temperature during a defrost period and/or require further storage space. Finally, this range of fridges are fully lockable to prevent theft.

* It is important to install your refrigerator with a minimum 50mm clearance at the sides and the top and 75mm clearance at the back to allow free circulation of air.
optimum performance is achieved when ambient room temperatures do not exceed 32°C.
Good housekeeping
Maximum performance will only occur if some simple housekeeping rules are adhered to:
- Do not over stock your fridge as air circulation will be impeded and effect performance.
- Be sure that the external air temperature surrounding the refrigerator does not exceed 32degreesC if using a glass door and 38degreesC if a solid door. Again this can cause overheating and malfunctioning
- Ensure that the unit has sufficient clear area around the unit to allow heat to escape otherwise overheating can occur effecting the performance of the unit
- Keep the rear of the refrigerator clear of debris so not to restrict cooling of the compressor
- MOST IMPORTANTLY IF YOU ARE HAVING YOUR REFRIGERATOR CHECKED FOR ACCREDITATION ENSURE THE TEST PROBE IS PLACED INSIDE
AN EMPTY VACCINE PACKET TO ENSURE THAT INACCURACIES DO NOT OCCUR AS A RESULT OF DOOR OPENINGS AND/OR COLD AIR BEING
DIRECTLY BLOWN ONTO THE TEST MODULE
